Cybersecurity Technician

Responsabilites

  • Monitor cybersecurity events, assess vulnerabilities, and coordinate responses to security incidents.
  • Maintain and regularly test the cybersecurity incident response plan.
  • Perform root cause analysis on security breaches and propose corrective actions.
  • Conduct IT security risk assessments and ensure full compliance with local and international security regulations, including those of Banco de Moçambique.
  • Work with internal audit and external regulators during cybersecurity reviews or assessments.
  • Support the organization’s data protection efforts in line with national laws and sector -specific directives.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Contribute to IT governance frameworks and ensure cyber risk is incorporated into enterprise risk management.
  • Conduct ongoing cybersecurity training for employees and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness across departments.
  • Support secure implementation of IT infrastructure, networks, and applications.
  • Evaluate and implement cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant postgraduate certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT risk management.
  • Prior experience in banking or regulated financial institutions is preferred.
  • CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent recognized international cybersecurity certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
  • Experience with incident response, penetration testing, and cyber risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with Mozambique’s regulatory landscape and the Central Bank’s ICT and cybersecurity directives.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Must be a Mozambican citizen.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or respond to security incidents outside regular business hours.
